About Great Audio

Great Audio was founded in 1996 by Gene Pilarczyk. Gene has been in fascinated with electronics since grade school. He built his first computer in 1984. In the later nineteen-eighties he was chief technical director at a major  technical recording school called "Full Sail Center for the Recording Arts"

His duties there ranged from  installing and maintaining all audio and video equipment, including but not limited to, Neve audio consoles, Synclaviers, Otari and Studer multi-tracks, and Ampex beta cam video decks.  Gene engineered and installed the Tascam Mix Lab, later turned into a Digidesign Mix Lab. He also taught audio recording labs and lectured classes in studio maintenance and sound reinforcement.

 

 Gene performed as technical advisor on  numerous remote recording gigs including  Jon Bon Jovi, Amy Grant, The Allman Brothers Band,  just to mention a few. His love for remote and studio recording made him develop a discerning ear.

 

Next Gene went to work at The Post Group @ Disney MGM. . A large multi-room video editing and audio sweetening facility. They also did graphic design and telecine (film to video transfer).  At The Post Group Gene design four channel audio for the video suites, did custom lighting, built audio suites and performed numerous tasks and upgrades on the Avid a Non-Linear computer video editing system. He has screen credits for Thunder and Paradise, Disney Mouse Club Features, The Newz and a few others.

Sounds like an exciting life till now doesn't it...  Yes it was, but for reasons beyond my control my life brought me back to Ocala and commuting was not an option. 

Since in Ocala I have worked and concentrated on home automation and home theater systems. Bringing professional system quality engineering and installation into the home and office environment. Some projects are small, some large, all get my personalized attention!

P.S.  I haven't quit on that  recording studio yet. My favorite hobby is still playing my guitar in my home studio  and writing songs.
